My Lifelong Love Affair

by Rochelle, in category Inspiration for the Journey

If you don’t yet have one, you might consider looking for one. What am I referring to? Why, a life-long love affair, of course! The type of affair I’m speaking of is ok. When my mom first taught me, “This is up. This is down. This is up and down. Let’s go up four, let’s… Read More

6 Celebrations of Women Connecting with Women, and Why it Matters

by Rochelle, in category Homeschooling, Inspiration for the Journey, Working Mom

I have heard it said that since women will most likely outlive their husbands, it is important to have close female friendships. It may have been said in jest, but I do believe that it is important for women to have friendships with other women. Some of those friendships should be close. Our different friends… Read More

3 Goals for your Homeschool Day

by Rochelle, in category Homeschooling

A good homeschool day requires certain elements to be in place; elements that vary widely from homeschool to homeschool. These elements may also vary from one sibling to the next, and also from one day to the next.  Simply put, these elements can be broken down into three goals. 1.  Be present with your child.… Read More

Seasons of Stillness

by Rochelle, in category Homeschooling, Working Mom

I feel so loved. Supported. Validated for my decision. Thankyou. These feelings arrived with a change of personal seasons, with a shift in my stillness. While searching for stillness in the seasons,  I found support in my stillness. Seeking the stillness in the seasons. That’s my tagline. Sometimes seeking that stillness takes you to a… Read More

9 Reflections on a Trail

by Rochelle, in category Family Life, Homeschooling, Inspiration for the Journey

Our family went camping with friends. And by camping I really mean “glamping”.  Say what you will, we left our house and spent more time outside than usual. The outdoors is a perfect place for reflections. Part of this time we spent on a short hike.  As I was snapping pictures along the trail we… Read More

My Calendar, My Life

by Rochelle, in category Family Life, Silliness and Sarcasm

My calendar, is, without doubt, my best friend. Unless what it really is, is a dreaded task-masker! Whether I say “ugh” when I look at it, or derive a sense of peace from knowing that my life is all laid out before me, depends on the day, or the season of life. As I wrap… Read More

I Love You More

by Rochelle, in category Family Life, Homeschooling

I wonder when he will stop.  When he will stop telling me multiple times a day that he loves me. That he loves me SO MUCH. I love you SO MUCH, Mommy.  I love you more than a dragon with arrows on fire coming out of its mouth.  That’s a special kind of love. The… Read More

The First of the Last

by Rochelle, in category Family Life, Homeschooling
Katie

Here it is. The day before the first day of the last year of homeschooling my second child. It’s different than how I felt at the beginning of my eldest’s senior year. I actually think I’m a bit more melancholy this time. I’m anticipating the tears, all of the “last times”, and the worry that… Read More

About Me

Hi, I’m Rochelle, a wife, mother of 3, homeschool mom, piano teacher, and entrepreneur. I love God, my husband, my children, and numerous others. I’m a lover of appropriate silliness. I also love the freedom of homeschooling and the opportunity I have to spend every day with my family. I work from home and like so many modern moms, I’m busy. I desire to be busy doing the right things, at the right times, and to purposefully find times to be still.
